How can you get stretch marks when you lose weight?

  1. Ok that article is correct.

Stretch marks are from teh skin not being able to keep up with shape changes….now when your body grows or gains weight too quickly for the elasticity of the skin then deep down it breaks (nto painful it just has like pressure on it and that is what gives the colour).

Now because ur body changes shape when it loses weight quickly then it also puts pressure on the skin to form to a smaller shape then before and this is what causes stretch marks……if you want a shorter or more detailed description then just search google
————————————————————————————- :) hope that helped and was what you were looking for…..if you wrote this question because you intend to lose weight then i would advise you do it slowly but even if you do develop stretchmarks then it is simple to just get fading scar remedies even if they are expensive (50 buck or less or more) :)

  2. Stretch marks (also called striae) first appear as red or purplish wavy lines under the surface of the skin. After about 6 months the colour fades & the lines start to contract. After a year or so they become fine & white or silvery. Stretch marks may develop when a part of the body grows more quickly than the skin that covers it, or the connective tissue of the skin is weakened by an excess of corticosteroid hormones (for example in cushing’s syndrome). Stretch marks most often appear on the breasts, thighs & abdomen if these parts enlarge very quickly during puberty & pregnancy. They can develop in both men & women during periods of rapid weight gain. The marks result from breaks in the fibrous & elastic tissues of the deeper layers of the skin in response to the pressure of the expanding tissue beneath. These breaks may be compared to deep cuts, except that the wounds come from inside the skin rather than from outside. Like deep cuts, the tears in the tissue cannot heal without scarring. There is nothing that will take stretch marks away. Massage may help the colour to fade a little more quickly. Perhaps the amount of stretch marking of a rapidly enlarging part may be reduced by supporting the part against gravity, especially the breasts during times of enlargement. If you were over weight & you lost the weight & seen you have stretch marks it’s because you already had them but now they are more noticable, as the skin is not as streched out.
